Symptom Management

Many people with kidney failure may not have any symptoms until late in the disease. In addition to dialysis treatment for kidney failure, patients frequently have other symptoms that impact their quality of life. Pain is problematic in up to one-half of patients. Non pain symptoms include pruritus (chronic itching), persistent fatigue and sleep difficulties, nausea and poor appetite, depression and sadness, and restless leg syndrome.

You should report all of your symptoms and concerns to your healthcare team and work with them to address your issues.
