The Coalition for Kidney Supportive Care's poster at the 2026 American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA) National Symposium has won the symposium's Poster Award Competition.
The poster, "High Moral Distress is Prevalent Among Nephrology Nurses and NPs", highlights some of the findings from Corbett et al.'s recent publication in the Nephrology Nursing Journal, “Why Is This Patient on Dialysis?”-A Survey of Nephrology Nurses’ Perspectives on Dialysis Appropriateness and Their Related Moral Distress".
The poster and associated publication put on a spotlight on nephrology nurse's changing experience with non-dialytic treatment options for appropriate patients. It also highlights the moral distress that nurses may face when patients are put on dialysis even if it might not be the most suitable or patient-centered choice.
The Coalition offers free resources for patients, caregivers, and clinicians to help them navigate conversations around goals of care, kidney disease treatment options, and advance care planning. The resources aim to ensure informed, shared, and patient-centered decision-making.
